Canada offers a unique Self-Employed Persons Program as an option to immigrate to Canada and receive Permanent Residency, provided the applicant has strong, relevant experience in a cultural activity or athletic background.
It is important to note that this visa class does not apply to applicants wanting to settle in Quebec.
IRCC considers the applicant to have relevant experience if they have participated in cultural activities or athletics and sports at an international level.
The applicant may also be a self-employed person, with at least 2 years’ experience out of the last 5 years, in cultural activities or athletics to qualify as having relevant experience.
The minimum requirements for the Self-Employed Persons Program include:
Relevant Experience, as explained above.
Meeting the Selection Criteria, that is based on age, education, experience, language abilities and adaptability.
Meeting the minimum medical, security checks and other requirements including producing valid Police Certificates.
The applicant may also need to provide proof of existing funds to be used to support themselves after immigrating to Canada.
We encourage you to fill our Free Evaluation Form to assess if you are eligible for the Self-Employed Persons visa class. The form allows us to review the options available to you that would allow you to gain Permanent Resident status in Canada.
