FAMILY SPONSORSHIP
Are you looking to sponsor a family member who wants to immigrate to Canada? Are you a Canadian citizen or permanent resident? If you answered yes to both questions, Immigration Ways can help you with your application.
Canada’s Family Class Sponsorship Program was created with a strong family reunification perspective. It can be used to help spouses/partners and relatives such as siblings, or parents/grandparents get permanent residency in Canada.
Minimum Requirements
According to this program, the eligibility criteria for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to support a relative is as follows:
- The applicant is the sponsor’s spouse, partner, or common-law partner.
- The relative is the sponsor’s orphaned minor brother, sister, nephew, niece, or grandchild.
- If the sponsor does not have other relatives that can be sponsored, such as a parent, partner/spouse, child, extended family like aunts and uncles).
PLEASE NOTE that if you are a citizen of Canada who is adopting a child from another country, you do not need to apply for permanent residency for your child and can directly apply for Canadian citizenship instead.
If you would like to fill out a free evaluation form to check your eligibility, you could do that here.
Because Canada’s immigration program is vast and can have multiple clauses, we encourage you to contact us directly to discuss your situation with us.
